At its meeting with IPO on Wednesday 12th March, the BCC, while welcoming the publication of the first Copyright Notice on digital images, photographs and the internet, noted that none of its visual arts and photography members organisations had been contacted prior to publication. The BCC again requested that IPO ensures there is a mechanism in place to notify interested parties of a decision to publish and that some time is available for consultation prior to publication. This would enable comments on any possible misconceptions and allow for the inclusion of additional information or signposting to that information.
