WIPO Training Course 2016
The countdown is on for the start of the 24th Advanced Level Training Course in Copyright and Related Rights. Organised jointly by the British Copyright Council (BCC) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO),in association with the United Kingdom’s Intellectual Property Office, the Course gives attendees a thorough overview of the copyright and related rights landscape from a UK perspective.
Delegates from around the globe will arrive in London to take part in the Course. Participants have been confirmed from Kenya, Bhutan, Romania and South Africa amongst many other countries.
Beginning on 17th October 2016, the first week of the course will concentrate on diverse issues, such as application of rights in practice and collective management. Week 2 starts on 24th October covering topics such as enforcement and the role of government in copyright. In addition to the talks and sessions, there will be some excellent social events for participants including a guided tour of some of London’s famous landmarks.
The Course has been organised in London by Janet Ibbotson, Chief Executive Officer of the BCC who, along with Florian Koempel, the BCC’s International Copyright Counsel and Dr Gaetano Dimita, has created a wide ranging and informative programme including speakers from a variety of organisations and professional bodies including many BCC member organisations, academics and legal professionals.
